The Advantages Of Airsoft Guns
March 6th, 2010 by Anthony Carter
If you like guns and enjoy shooting them, you may consider shooting games as a hobby. There are a few safe ways to simulate combat in controlled environments using such gun simulation weapons as paintball guns, laser tag guns, and airsoft guns.
While it remains true that what you are most interested is likely to have the strongest influence on which method you’ll decide on, there are still some significant advantages to opting for shooting games that use airsoft guns.
Airsoft games are more popular than other shooting games because of the realistic look and functioning of the guns used. The very wide range of electric guns on the market includes replicas of all gun styles, some of the best sellers being AK47s and sniper rifles.
Neither laser tag guns nor paintball guns can compare to an airsoft gun when it comes to looking and acting like a real gun. For starters, paint and lasers don’t create much of a realistic setting. You may have some variety in terms of looks when it comes to paintball guns, but in most cases you can’t even buy a laser tag gun. Instead, you have to go to a laser tag facility and pay to use their equipment within their establishment.
The differences between the guns create distinct feelings when playing shooting games, so you’re decision is likely to be influenced by these differences. A common factor among paintball, laser tag, and airsoft shooting matches is they are all essentially set up as two or more teams shooting at each other based on a predetermined scenario. The fact that an airsoft gun shoot BBs makes this experience quite different from shooting paint or lasers at people. Moreover, laser tag equipment is very different, especially in terms of protective gear considering lasers don’t actually make physical contact with players the way paintballs and BBs do.
Another factor to consider aside from your preferences would be how much it will cost to start up and then continue to participate in each of the available options. If you’re on a budget, you’ll be glad to know that the majority of airsoft guns are not as expensive as paintball guns. On top of that, BBs are much cheaper than paintballs.
It’ll cost about the same amount of money to purchase a hundred paintball rounds as it does to purchase a thousand BB rounds, whereas you won’t spend anything on ammunition for laser tag guns. The downside to this is you can’t buy laser tag equipment; you have to rent it each time you feel like playing, which eventually becomes a more expensive hobby than playing airsoft and paintball matches. At least with the latter two, you can invest in the equipment and use it when you want.
Airsoft guns present a considerable advantage over the competition according to the majority of people who have participated in airsoft gun matches. For good reasons, it is likely you will find airsoft shooting games to be the best by far, though it is possible that one of the other two methods might better suit your preferences.
