Quickly Develop Powerful Cold Reading For Astounding Results

Becoming skilled in cold reading is an essential skill if you are to become a powerful magician. Cold reading entails “reading” somebody “cold,” just as the name implies. This means making some educated guesses about their history and personality based on how they look, their hairstyle, and some basic observations about human nature in general. When done correctly, some basic cold reading skills can give you the illusion of being a powerful psychic.
First of all, you need to size up your spectators. This means exactly resolve how many people there are. A bunch, or a few? The more folks there are, the more specific you can be with your “predictions,” and likely have a few individuals who you will think you are talking about them. This requires you have some decent body language reading skills, so you can follow up with the correct person. It’s always superior to start hazy, and then get more precise to narrow down your choice of people to focus on.
With smaller group of people, you’ll have the Forer effect going for you. This consequence describes how individuals will give much more truthfulness to something that they think is about them in particular, when in fact it is a broad statement that could be applied to almost anybody. If you start of with some general observations based on their clothing, and then depict some fundamental truths that are generally correct for most people, this can be a commanding combination.
For example, if their shirt is clean and pressed, but un tucked, you can say something like, “You have the exceptional feature of balancing external appearances and private comfort.” This is accurate for most people, but they will be under the illusion it is only about them.
Once you make a couple of simple observations about their clothing, you can start to chat about their history. Again, vague generalizations will often be established as individual unique truths. For example, you can say something like, “I can tell that in your past you’ve had some difficulties, and you’ve achieved some great accomplishments. Some known by others, but some that only you know about.” Likewise, this is true for most people, but because you are speaking directly to them, they will think it is only about them.
Once you’ve persuaded them that you know about who they are, and what they’ve gone through, you are ready to start making predictions about the future. Since you are two out of two, they’ll be much more keen to pay attention to your predictions about their outlook. As when dealing with their past, when predicting their future it’s best to be indistinct: “You have a bright future, but you must be watchful because you will come up against some obstacles that may cause you to lose enthusiasm. But I see your future as one of achievement and prosperity.”
So long as you don’t misuse this, it can be a breathtaking party trick. You’ll find that you will immediately become the most trendy person at the party by accurately reading people’s past, and giving them a good future to look forward to. And when you mingle this with a few easy card tricks and other illusions, you’ll quickly become the most sought after party guest in town. Have fun.
