There are two ways of skimboarding that are most popular. To start, sand skimming is best, which gives more control. For this reason, younger riders and beginners are well advised to start from this point.
It should start with running along the beach as the tide goes out. Gaining speed, the board should be dropped onto the thin layer of water. Do not jump on to the skimboard; this will almost certainly make you fall. Put one foot a little higher than the mid-point, then put the other foot on. Maintain your direction so that you are staying on the tide line on the sand.
As you feel more comfortable, you can move on to try a wave. Skimboarding the waves starts on the beach, and rides the tide back out. Many riders find this easier to do than traditional surfing while still getting the rush. Read more...

Skimboarding is also known as skimming or skiff boarding. Skim boards are used to move across the water much as if that is the case with surfing. They use a board that is a smaller version of surfboard called a skim board.
The momentum is then used to skim out towards new waves that are breaking, in a similar fashion to surfing. Flatland is a technique used by skimmers whereby they do tricks as one would on a skateboard. This may include shove-its and ollies.
Skim boards can be ridden in a variety of different ways. Tide flats and rivers are also places where you can use your board. Shallow water will be required for this purpose. You will also need to be away from the waves. Other ways to get to the waves is via shallow water and wet sand. More advanced skimmers ride the larger waves. They use rails, tricks and ramps to boast their skills and this is somewhat more difficult than is ordinarily the case with skimming.
Before getting fancy with tricks like grinding the rail and wave riding, the basics have to be mastered. Starting is simple enough as you throw the board on the water, run, and jumps onto it while at the same time gliding on the water. Read more...

It is very handy to get some tips on bass fishing when you are a beginner. Firstly, it it is important to know that bass are fish whose metabolism depends on the temperature of the surrounding water. Their metabolism rises or falls proportionally with the increase or decrease in water temperature. Therefore, if the water where they happen to be is cold, as it is in deeper waters, they are less active and so eat a lot less.
Moreover, around January bass fishing should start to be directed to warmer and warmer waters as bass tend to leave cold deep waters so they can spawn. Also, during fall bass start to move towards colder and deeper waters where they would be better off during the cold season. Yet fishermen should not expect them to travel great distances very quickly. Their cycles of moving from one place to another as the seasons change, last for several months.
It is also a good tip to realize when bass fishing that these fish are very sociable, which means that they tend to shoal together in schools, especially those which are the same size. So, if you have already caught some bass in one area, you are likely to catch more in the same area as long as you do not throw the dead fish you’ve already caught back into the water as that will panic the rest of the school.
