4WD Vs. Sedan- Which Rental Are You?

March 10th, 2010 by Jason Hall

If you want to discover the real outback Queensland it is worth knowing that here are a lot of roads that require you to report to police before you leave one end and report to them again when you arrive at your destination. This makes it easier to locate you of you fail to turn up where and when you were expected. Many of these roads can be attempted in a normal car but generally it is less hard-going in a 4WD.

When you are traveling in the outback, it is also important to have any spare equipment, for your car, that you may need. If you were to brake down, the area is so remote that it can take hours for a tow truck to reach you, and it can also be costly. Another item that you should have is a high frequency radio transmitter, since the cell phone reception is not always reliable.

Russia and International Women’s Day

March 2nd, 2010 by Tony Rockwell

On March 8th, countries throughout the world will celebrate International Women’s Day. This significant holiday celebrates women’s economic, political, and social contributions and raises awareness about the current injustices women face. Though International Women’s Day is a global holiday, it is particularly important to the men and women of Russia.

In 1913, the women of Russia observed International Women’s Day for the first time. Female activists joined together to protest World War I and by 1914 women from other European countries added their voices to the protests in an expression of women’s solidarity.

The activism didn’t stop there. Inflamed by the deaths of over 2 million Russian soldiers in World War I, Russian women begin a strike “for bread and peace” on March 8, 1917. The strike led to the eventual abdication of the Czar and the provisional government gave Russian women the right to vote. The protests helped paved the way for the Russian revolution the rise of feminist Alexandra Kollontai. Kollontai fought for the rights of women and persuaded Lenin to make International Women’s Day a public holiday in the Soviet Union.

Travel To Ho Chi Ming, Vietnam

March 2nd, 2010 by Jose Maurette Garces

When you go away someone aboard you are always going to have to be careful about the different dangers that you might encounter. This is something that is mostly true when you are going somewhere in the third world where the populations are huge and the is less proper infrastructure in place. As such here are a few different tips on staying safe when you travel to Ho Chi Ming city.

The first thing that you have to be careful of are the motorbike cowboys. There are two things to be careful of here. First of all make sure that you are safe down on the waterfront where you will often, especially on sunday night, get lots of young people cruising around in big groups on their bikes.

You should also remember that motorbike taxis are also something that can be very dangerous. You may see some people with large grazes on their bodies and these are those who got away lightly. When you travel on the back of a motorbike taxi make sure that they give you a helmet or do not get on at all.

Tips On Exploring All Of The Sunshine Coast

February 24th, 2010 by Zane Archer

At first you may be tempted to fly into the Brisbane Airport , pick up a car hire and hit the road for the Sunshine Coast , and don’t get me wrong, this is a wonderful way to see the region, if you know where you are going and are prepared to do such. But if navigation is not your thing, then you might want to more carefully consider taking advantage of the many guided tours of this region.

Finding your way around the region can be confusing and difficult. This is also the same for finding the best tourist attraction and places to explore. This is even more so if the only information that you have on the region has come from an internet search. Although a search engine will be able to assist you with finding things according to your search, they can not recommend areas that might be of interest to you while you are on your vacation.

When you are partaking in a guided tour you will have a vacation experience that you may not be able to have on your own. There are various tours available included those that take you on a exploration of the Noosa Everglades and others that take you to enjoy the many Sunshine water sports and activities. All the tours are reasonably priced and most include a special event., access to National Parks and even meals.

Tropical North Queensland – One Of The Most Beautiful Places On Earth

February 24th, 2010 by Jerry Duncan

From afar it may sound as if the Tropical North Queensland region of Australia is nothing but jungle. Rustic rainforests where you can easily get turned around and possibly lost forever. The TNQ region is not just a jungle and is a popular tourist area. It is definitely not a Brisbane and is quite spread out much natural rain forest all around, but good maps and a good car hire will allow you travel easily around the region.

And there are many interesting things to see in this region, sites that are unique to this region. There are several National Parks which you can take a tour of or go for a self guided walk through. The incredible thing about the National Parks is that they allow for you to safely travel through and explore all the natural beauty. You will see creatures and have experiences like none you have had before.

Of course the Coral Reef is another place that you must visit. Lined with coral this is a spot with spectacular views and is a great place to take photographs, take pictures, and swim with the creatures beneath the surface. If you have scuba gear, bring it, you will have a blast checking out what lies beneath the surface. Of course you can also rent gear while you are there if you so desire.
