The latest information does not come from Grandma Smith’s Home Book of Healthy Remedies but from the most prestigious orthopedic journal in the world, Spine. Three recent articles in this medical journal (The Impact of Positive Sagittal Balance in Adult Spinal Deformity (Spine Journal), Spinal Kyphosis Causes Demyelination and Neuronal Loss in the Spinal Cord: A New Model of Kyphotic Deformity (Spine Journal) and A hypothesis of chronic back pain: ligament subfailure injuries lead to muscle control dysfunction (European Spine Journal) ) not only have a lot of big words in their titles but they confirm the concept that the shape of your spine determines the function of your body.
Now when we discuss shape, there are two things that need to be addressed. Shape means having the correct curves in your spine from the side view and front view. It also means having joints that are mobile and full of flexibility. The most interesting one for me is the one that talks about Sagittal Balance. The conclusions from the article were that all measures of health status showed significantly poorer scores. There is also deterioration of health status with progressive forward head posture. Even minor forward head posture is bad. The harshness of symptoms increases in a linear fashion with progressive increase of forward head posture. There was apparent evidence of greater than before ache and decrease role as the magnitude of forward head posture increased. Read more...

San Diego personal injury lawyer gets victims fair cash settlements and overcomes challenges in many industries in California. The main points center on industries with significant workplace dangers.
Boat Building
Traumas caused by accidents linked with boat building employment have few comparisons because accidents can spring up for more than one reason. Any combining of the four reasons could complicate the task of having a lawyer investigate what really caused the accident. Four main constituents of boat building accidents are physical contact with a heat energy source, breathing in toxic substances, falling onto moving component parts, or climbing down from a high place. If company directors have a habit of not performing their responsibilities then lawyers may find their investigations impeded and justice slowly served.
Any combination of factors can conspire to cause an injury even if workers follow all work rules. Extreme working conditions mean ship building accidents will tend to produce a permanent disability. The upper torso of injured workers seems to sustain its share of damage. The dangerous nature and complexity of ship building should make its employees want to seek professional legal advice should a workplace injury occur.

San Diego chiropractors and spinal decompression specialists offer new hope for back pain victims. Advanced spinal decompression therapy and cold laser therapy are combined for a program that works wonders for many patients suffering from bulging discs, herniated discs, sciatica, and spinal stenosis. Up until now, there has not been a complete program for eliminating back pain. With the advanced spinal decompression therapy program at New Century Spine Centers in San Diego, former back pain sufferers are living pain free and enjoying life. These are patients that previously tried chiropractic, acupuncture, physical therapy, and even surgery. They finally ended their back pain with the advanced spine decompression therapy program.
Patients love the treatments because they are safe, non-surgical and effective. According to one patient, “I went to other doctors that do spine decompression and got minimal relief. After I met with Dr. Pritsker, he was professional, understood my skepticism and concerns, and was very friendly. And best of all, after going through his program, I am completely ache free!” Dr. Mike Pritsker combines hands-on spine adjustments with high-tech spine decompression treatments, and then Dr. Dirk Kancilia strengthens the spine and surrounding structures with specialized rehab, cold laser therapy, and physiotherapy. The program covers every angle when it comes to eliminating back ache and keeping it off. New Century Spine Treatment Centers has set up the website www.SanDiegoBackAcheTreatment.com where those interested can request a free video about these high-tech treatments. Read more...

Choosing between good health and great wealth is usually a simple answer. Most people would pick good health. However when asked to define “health,” many would have trouble putting into words what this concept means to us. For some of us health might mean lack of illness, disease and pain. Sometimes to some health means being symptom free. For other individuals good health might mean a greater positive state of being, including strong bones, good posture, white teeth, great body and eyes, strong muscles, appropriate weight, and much more.
One thing we all agree on is we want good health. But this goal may be difficult to reach with a health system focused primarily on treatment, rather than prevention of illness and disease. Though we have extensive research about the illnesses of the body and treatment of symptoms, what have we studied about creating wellness within the body to prevent health problems before they happen?
In the study of heart patients for example, heart bypasses and angioplasty generally do not address the underlying cause of the heart condition or problem. Many surgeries generally treat the existing problem which can return if the person doesn’t also make a lifestyle change in their daily activity. When patients make comprehensive lifestyle changes consistent with a healthy heart and overall wellness, most patients have a good chance of improving their overall health. Read more...

Even if you don’t like it, some health crises do require prescription medication. But how safe is your prescription medication? Your doctor prescribes them and they are FDA approved. But are they safe and effective? Studies show that they may not be as safe as you would like them be! Not even aspirin is always safe. Whether you realize it or not, whenever you take a drug, you are weighing the potential benefits against the possibility that the medicine can hurt you.
For example, Celebrex is a prescription drug for arthritis. When information was released in August 2001 that Celebrex and Vioxx might be associated with an increased risk of heart attack, users reactions ranged from nervous to seriously alarmed.
There are some prescription pills today on the market even though they pose a potential health threat to their consumers. Maryann Napoli, Associate Director of the Center for Medical Consumers in New York City, states in her Health Facts Report that the food and drug administration requires tests before any prescription drug goes on the public market. But tests typically last no longer than six months. Consequently, a drug’s safety remains uncertain until it has been on the market for many years. Not only is the drug testing periods not very long, but possible negative side effects of prescription meds are often determined in only small groups of people. Read more...

Perhaps the most crucial decision a DUI attorney must make during a case is deciding on what argument to present. As once this argument is presented, it is often times quite difficult to present another argument if the first one falls flat. The
Once the DUI attorneys first argument is made, the following arguments must remain consistent and support the main argument. If a DUI attorney fails to do this, they can come across as being sneaky or unorganized.
It is never a wise choice to argue that your defendant was hardly over the legal limit, as this tries to make room for a gray area when one does not exist. You are either guilty or not guilty, and the jury will determine which one you are. You cannot be “a little bit” guilty. If this is your approach, it would be a better idea to negotiate a bargain with the prosecutor rather than taking your case to trial. Read more...
