Media Invited to Practice
Open Practice
For Immediate Release – April 16, 2008
Edmonton, AB
As the Edmonton Chill’s training camp continues this week, they will hold a Thursday night practice from 7-9pm at Eastglen High School (11430 68th Street) that will be open to the media and public.
At the practice, the Chill will have on hand all but two of the players pegged to wear the black, red, and white for Edmonton as they break the seal on IBL hoops in Canada. They are still waiting for the completion of play in other leagues for Stephen Sir and Lee Scruggs, but both should be arriving next week. However, two of their biggest players will be on hand.
Baltimore native and IBL veteran Teon Knox will be putting his exceptional skills on display for just the third time with the Chill. The 6’8” 265 pound power forward gave the fans a small taste during the team’s exhibition game last Friday, virtually walking straight off the plane and on to the court to register 17 points, 9 rebounds, and 5 assists.
Also on hand Thursday night, for the very first time, will be Eric Crookshank. Eric, no stranger to basketball in Canada, just finished playing for the Halifax Rainmen, of the ABA, where he averaged 20 points and 12 rebounds a game. The Oakland, CA area resident was named to the All-Star game where he narrowly missed an MVP nod by exploding for 28 points, 14 boards, and 6 blocked shots. The 6’7” Crookshank also brings IBL experience having played for Tri-Valley in 2007 and putting together a solid 21 point and 10 rebound average.
The Chill will continue their training camp practice schedule with evening practices next Tuesday from 8-10pm and Thursday from 7-9pm at Eastglen High School, both of which will also be open to the media and the public.
